Art fairs are all about presenting beautiful things and beautiful people—which is why such events are perfect places for the “language of love” to develop. It is no surprise, then, that the US video dating app Filteroff hosted an online speed-dating event in June for attendees of the Masterpiece art fair in London, aiming to bring together art buffs.
But how does it work? “You RSVP for a virtual speed-dating event on the Filteroff app. You’re then scheduled dates based on your preferences,” explains the app’s co-founder and chief executive Zach Schleien. Singletons then have three minutes to video date, seeing if they hit it off. “With Filteroff, it’s all about meeting like-minded singles,” Schleien says. If the budding arty couples make a great first Impressionism, display good Mannerisms, and go Dada for each other, we’re sure they’ll have a great Futurism together…
UPDATE: A spokeswoman for Masterpiece says that "Masterpiece does not have any form of partnership with Filteroff".
Filteroff says that the speed dating event took place before the fair—“this was for singles attending the Masterpiece fair, so they could then meet in person!”
