The J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles has announced that it will return Pieter Molijn’s Landscape with Cottage and Figures, about 1640, to the heirs of Dutch-Jewish art dealer Jacques Goudstikker, whose art collection was looted by the Nazis, making the Getty the first North America museum to do so. Goudstikker’s heirs say about 1,000 canvases from the dealer’s collection are still missing.
