Art Basel has secured three showings of “Il Tempo del Postino”, running from 10-12 June, following its first and only presentation at the Manchester International Festival in 2007. The show, co-curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Philippe Parreno, features a group of the world’s leading visual artists who create an experimental presentation, each lasting 15 minutes of exhibition time, with the stage and the auditorium assuming the role of the gallery space. Featured artists from the Manchester show will include Douglas Gordon, Parreno (“Postman Time”, above left), and Anri Sala (“4 Butterflies”, above right), among others. “Il Tempo del Postino” was originally co-commissioned by the Manchester International Festival and Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris, for the world premiere in Manchester in July 2007. The three presentations of the show will be at 8.30pm at Theater Basel. Tickets are available via the Art Basel website,
www.artbasel.com/Il-Tempo-del-Postino, and are priced from Swfr80-200 ($68-$171).
