Moscow’s Garage Museum launches contemporary survey
by | 10 March 17
The Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow and the surrounding area of Gorky Park will host the first Garage Triennial of Russian Contemporary Art (10 March-14 May). The survey of the country’s art scene has been organised by six museum staff members, who travelled to more than 40 cities and towns in Russia, meeting around 200 artists. Works by more than 60 of these will be included in the show, which “captures the zeitgeist of some of the most active and influential figures of the past five years”, according to a press statement. An online directory of contemporary Russian artists will be published to accompany the project.
