Phillips and the blog platform Tumblr are scheduled to host the UK's first auction dedicated to digital art on 3 July in London, with online sales at Paddle8. Lindsay Howard, the director of the Brooklyn digital art space 319 Scholes, has selected 23 works for the auction, called "Paddles ON!"

Some more traditional forms of media are represented, including Michael Manning's pastel digital print on canvas, Chinese Broccolini Torta, 2014, (est £3,000-£5,000), as are much quirkier works, such as Yuri Pattison's 3D-printed titanium, steel and silver replicas of Russian meteorite fragments that were sold on eBay last year, chelyabinsk eBay extrusions, 2013 (est £2,000-£2,500).

Proceeds from the sales go to the artists and their galleries, while Phillips is donating a portion of the buyer's premium to the new digital art nonprofit Opening Times.

DOLORES KRETCH, STICKNEY - CHICAGO SUBURB

I think this is a great picture that a company such as Google would be proud to display in their building.
