copenhagen. A small museum dedicated to Norwegian sculptor Knut Steen (born in 1924) has opened in Sandefjord, southern Norway. The glass-walled pavilion has approximately 200 sq. m of exhibition space, with a sculpture park outside the building. There are 12 marble sculptures inside the pavilion and four bronze works in the park, all of which were bought and loaned by Norwegian bank foundation Sparebankstiftelsen. “We are glad that it has been possible to bring several of Knut’s works together at one place in his native country,” Hege Steen, the artist’s daughter and manager, told The Art Newspaper. Over the past 50 years, Steen has divided his time between Sandefjord and Carrara, Italy.
