Hauser & Wirth (FL, B11; FM, B5) now exclusively represents the estate of Mira Schendel, one of Latin America’s most respected post-war artists. A refugee from Nazi Europe, she arrived in Brazil in 1949 and contributed to the development of a uniquely Brazilian form of Modernism. She died in 1988. The first full-scale international survey dedicated to Schendel is now on show at Tate Modern (until 19 January 2014). Hauser & Wirth is planning a show of her work in its gallery in uptown New York next year.
