The first comprehensive monograph of Ai Weiwei’s work, published by Taschen, is being launched at Art Basel this week—but the 100 copies of the limited “art edition” of the book, which comes complete with a Chinese marble display stand and is priced at €10,000, have already sold out. You can, however, buy the “standard” €1,000 edition of the 700-page tome, which is wrapped in a Habotai silk scarf.
The monograph was compiled in collaboration with the Chinese artist and includes previously unpublished images and new interviews.
